"Andre built a beautiful website for an archive of a publication's back-issues. The site was built on WordPress, and he met all of our editorial team's complex, blog-defying needs and desires — things like alphabetizing by last name, not first... getting articles to show up according to their original publication date, not the date of upload... enabling customized levels of donations... The user interface is intuitive for site visitors; easy and powerful for those of us adding content. Andy is super responsive, fun, and easy to work with. The nature of WordPress is that plug-ins often need to be updated, which can cause things to break. On the rare occasions when that happens, Andy is quick to figure it out and fix it. We seriously couldn't be happier with Andy and our website!"
Kim C. | Managing Editor/Archive DirectorA semiannual print journal dedicated to transmitting Buddhadharma creatively to the West required an online presence to publish its issues.
Using WordPress, a robust publishing system was developed for editors. This publishing system now contains journal articles from 1985 to 2015, encompassing over 60 issues and 1200 articles.
A custom WordPress theme was created based on a beautiful design by graphic designer Cleo Huggins, which mirrored the print journal’s aesthetic. Custom theme templates were then developed to implement this design.
To facilitate user access to this extensive online archive, search functionality was added to the platform. This indexed the journal content and provided search results with highlighted keywords.
